We have updated the visitation guidance for hospital and ambulatory settings based on the most recent public health order by the CDPH and includes a key change: Kaiser Permanente San Francisco patients may have visitors without restriction.

As of April 3, 2023, per a public health order issued by the City and County of San Francisco, patients and visitors are no longer required to mask. Masks are encouraged for visitors and patients upon entrance to the hospital and throughout the visit, especially if visiting a patient in a double room, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory-like illnesses. Per the order, health care workers are required to wear masks in patient care and public areas. Providers, staff, patients, and visitors must adhere to all self-symptom screenings prior to entering our facilities.

The start date for construction to refresh our main pharmacy at 2238 Geary Blvd., 1^st floor, originally scheduled to begin in November 2023 has been delayed. Construction is now expected to begin in mid-February and last until the fall.

Although our main pharmacy on the 1st floor will be open during this time, there will be significantly less seating in the waiting area, so we encourage you to use one of our convenient options.

Non-urgent prescriptions:
Our free mail order service is available for most prescriptions, or you can visit one of our satellite pharmacies. Visit pharmacy services for additional information.

Urgent prescriptions:
Order on kp.org or our KP Mobile App and select “priority pick-up.” During construction, we encourage you to pick up your urgent prescription at one of our satellite pharmacies. Visit pharmacy services for a complete list of locations and hours of operation.

Locations for drug collection kiosks:
While construction is ongoing, we have removed the kiosk to deposit unwanted or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs at the 2238 Geary Blvd. 1^st floor pharmacy.Additional kiosks can be found at the pharmacies at 1600 Owens St. or 4141 Geary Blvd. Additional locations to safely dispose of unwanted medications can also be found at med-project.org. Due to high demand, our pharmacies do not have pre-paid, mail-back envelopes in stock, but they can be ordered from med-project.org.

Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting a no cost flu shot. For your safety and convenience, flu vaccinations are available for adults and children, 6 months and older. Please get vaccinated – it’s your best defense against serious health risks this season, and now more than ever, it’s important to stay safe and stop the spread.

Please note:

We anticipate high demand for flu vaccinations in some areas. To minimize your wait times, help ease vehicle congestion, and ensure the safety of those visiting our facilities, please follow these guidelines when coming for your flu shot:

• Bring a photo ID and your Kaiser Permanente member ID card.
• Wear short sleeves or clothing that allows easy access to your upper arm. Depending on local county guidance, you may be required to wear a mask.
• Do not block fire zones, disabled parking spaces, or any facility entrances.
• Members may also receive a flu vaccine during a scheduled care appointment at any of our locations.

Most of the time, you can use an easy and reliableno-cost home antigen test for your COVID-19 testing needs.

PCR tests are used when directed by your doctor or when you’re required to show a negative PCR test for international travel or in circ*mstances where self-tests are not an option, such as to prove a negative COVID-19 test. Please check testing requirements prior to choosing a testing option.

You can now geta rapid PCR test with results in 24 hours or less at our convenient Northern California Kaiser Permanentetesting locations. To get your test, start with an E-visit.

Kaiser Permanente members have more care options since the January 2023 opening of ourUrgent Care Cliniclocated in the 1^stfloor lobby of the Geary Boulevard Medical Office Building at 2238 Geary Blvd. Underground parking is conveniently located on site.
